Style Icon ~ Talitha Getty

Since the sun is shining and we have been wearing some of our floaty dresses this week {albeit with tights and ankle boots!} we wanted to post a few images of someone with inspiring summer style and who better than retro boho queen Talitha Getty.

For those who don’t know her she was regarded as one of the biggest style icons of the late 1960’s and for good reason!  She lived much of her adult life in Britain and, in her final years, was closely associated with the Moroccan city of Marrakesh. Daughter of the painter Augustus John who was a pivotal figure in the world of “Bohemian” culture and fashion, she was quite the bohemian trendsetter herself.  She was even married in a white mini-skirt, trimmed with mink!  Talitha Getty is probably best remembered for an iconic photograph taken on a roof-top in Marrakesh, Morocco in January 1969 by Patrick Lichfield, with her hooded husband in the background. This picture is now part of the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Get inspired by her bohemian chic look for summer ~ we have and are off to dig out a kaftan and buy some stacked rings like she’s wearing in the photo below!

Talitha Getty would definitely have been a Belle & Bunty bride. Amazing style with a chic 70s vibe. She’s pretty cool!
