It’s a conundrum. Hunting for a wedding dress when you never really wear dresses. You’re not the girl that’s always dreamt of a giant extravaganza of a ‘Big Day’. You don’t like big skirted, princess dresses but you do want a lovely frock. Obviously.
More paired back than piled on. ‘Cos when it comes to weddings ALOT can be piled on.
Sequins, lace, crystals, embellishment, beading, the Bridal Bling Squad can be out in full force. Let us level with you, we don’t wanna be in that crew. We’d rather hang out with Dune London and our own range of dresses, thanks.
If you are anything like us, said Bling Squad is not what you are looking for. We started our bridal collections after we both got married within 6 months of each other and designed our own dresses together. As trained designers with our own fashion label expectations were high. No pressure there then.
The common denominator between the styles we both wanted was no fuss, no frump and a bit of sass.
A ruddy lovely frock please.
Fast forward 7 years and the bridal trends have followed our lead into a wave of girls wanting simple, classy wedding day looks. Without the fuss. To mirror this we’ve styled 4 wedding day looks with dresses from our bridal collection and Dune London‘s range of shoes and accessories. Plus here are some tips we’ve learnt along the way if you want to look more timeless, less toilet roll holder.
These paired back looks let the fabrics do the talking. Silk satin {yes 100% silk, not a synthetic satin} has a hand feel and drape like no other. It screams luxury, but in a non shouty way. No sparkle or OTT details, just great cuts that move amazingly and are perfect for a city wedding or countryside big day. We wanted a pretty touch so added floral crowns of baby’s breath flowers keeping the neutral theme and accessorised with Dune London‘s statement sculptural heels. We love how these court shoes and strappy heels in a flattering neutral shade that have a wow factor, intricate heel. Both of which we are pretty sure you’d wear again after your big day. Win Win.

These chic and subtly sexy looks are down to good cutting and great fabric. With such paired back wedding day outfits we think you can make them your own and add details in your styling and accessories to ramp up the simple but statement silhouettes to the next level. We are big advocates of choosing shoes you could wear again like these elegant and a lil’ bit vampy court shoes in modern metallic snake or tactile peach velvet and if you want to add a small amount of bling to you look try an embellished belt or go for a feminine detail with this cute bow clutch {and matching bow in your hair?!} Why not, we say.
