It’s not something that we thought we’d be writing here TBH but we dressed in the biggest, most floral princesses dresses last week and we LOVED it.
On the sartorial scale we are probably on the girly end with our love of colour plus we don’t shy away from ruffles, frills and all styles of dresses but we also try to balance this out with a masculine twist. Our natural style is ALWAYS to add a boxy mans blazer, worn in pair of straight leg jeans or a chunky boot/shoe/trainer to tone down the feminine frills and potential “fuss” to something more paletable and less 8 year olds doll.
These dresses are next level girly but we dare you to try one on and NOT fall in love with the wafting layers of tulle and tiers of fabric swishing at your feet.
We were invited by the Holkham Estate to visit and one look at the stunning venue told us we needed something a little special and grand enough to fit with the Hall and these dresses 100% ticked that box.
Controversial but we are feeling like quite a few Insta~outfits showing up on our feeds are getting a little samey and safe so we love throwing oversize knits, jeans and Triple S trainers, ahem, we mean CAUTION to the wind and adding these mega maxi dresses, toned down with a well loved sneaker, to our feed because Spring is nearly here and that means Event dressing is starting. Also why the hell not.
We can recommend following some of our Instagram faves who also love colour, pattern and are always inspiring with their looks:
If you fancy trying out a full length floral number then here are some of Needle & Thread’s current dreamy styles, 2 of which we are wearing, plus some other flowery finds that caught our eyes!
