It’s been a bit of a long time coming but we are finally sharing our experience after we went to visit The House of Elemis a couple of months ago! As you guys know fashion is our ‘thing’ but both being in our 30’s its time we put a little more effort into our skincare and we are sure quite a few of you can relate so we wanted to share our experience incase any of you are feeling the same. It’s time to ramp up our skincare routine and take things a little more seriously! Luckily Elemis, one of our longterm favourite skincare brands is there to help!
Our Facials
As a boost to kick start getting our skin in good shape we started with a trip to The House of Elemis to try out their skin analysis and to get our own tailored facial. You’ll find the spa hidden away in the centre of London, through a quaint courtyard and into an oasis in the heart of the hustle bustle. After brief filling out a lifestyle form we were shown to the treatment room which has 2 sections in it, perfect for you and a friend, partner or family member to enjoy joint treatments at the same time! Genius!
Something we were most intrigued about was the in-depth face mapping that Elemis do with special technology to look at all areas of your skin and therefore create a treatment plan of product that would be perfect for your skin type and issues specifically, aswell as allowing the therapist to work out which facial will be most beneficial for you.
As you can see from the imagery below its not pretty and you get up close and personal with your skin but its so intriguing to hear what shape your face is in! So 6 different aspects were investigated from pores to wrinkles to dehydration: warning! there is no hiding! Both of us had the analysis {which you can read more about here}, then enjoyed our problem specific facials followed by a relaxing drink and product recommendations too.
If you are not sure how your skin is fairly as you age or are looking to really up your skincare game we’d really recommend going to get your skin properly analysed and we promise its not as scary as it sounds!
So once we had been checked out at the Skin Lab and had a facial each to give our skin a much needed boost, we have both been trying some at home products and here’s what are have been particularly taken with!
Pro-Collegen Cleansing Balm
We both really love using a cleansing balm and would highly recommend giving one a try. Usually they come with a cleansing cloth too so you can get a good deep clean while the cloth helps with a little exfoliation. This cleaning balm melts in you palms from a paste to a lovely oil consistency that really feels likes its doing its job in removing the days make up and cleansing the skin.
Superfood Facial Oil
We steered clear of oils for quite a few years for fears of making our skin over oily but recently love them! Never once have we used an oil and had a breakout and this oil containing a fantastic mix of ‘superfoods’ for you skin is a great one to invest in.
Superfood Day and Night Creams
The Superfood range is a newer one from Elemis which combines anti-oxidants, omega fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, ELEMIS’ Superfood skincare formulations, some with a natural sugar derived Pre-Biotic to help feed the skin with active ingredients. Phew, with all that lot going on you just know that your skin is going to love it.
Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment & Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal
We have been using these 2 eye products recently and after our facial at The House of Elemis the therapist suggested layering them up which we have been doing. First the serum and then the gel on top and we have to say we have noticed a difference!
The facials and products used in this post were gifted to us by the lovely people at Elemis, all views are our own!
You can book your own facial at the House of Elemis here, aswell as a whole help of glorious treatments including body scrubs, wraps and tightening toners, pregnancy and wedding specials and for those of you with little “me time” on your hands like us then we’d recommend the Speed Spa for 30 minute treatments!
