Recently we’ve been reminiscing about hours lost watching Sex & The City and the influence a certain Miss Bradshaw had on so many women enabling a love of shopping and a greater love of designer fashion. For us it was like she was giving us a green card to go shop.  Yes, you need those Marc Jacobs apple green kitten heels with the big bow on the front {side note: wore them loads and still have them} One recent documentary on Manolo & a handful of S&TC episodes later and you’ll find us heading to Shoe Heaven faster than a rat up a drainpipe.

“I like my money right where I can see it ~ hanging in my closet” she said, but sometimes you have to be level headed and know where to invest your hard earned cash. Right Carrie? OK, well that’s where we may beg to differ.

For us a designer accessory splurge is 100% worth it for the daily use and we love the high/low dressing mix which is appropriate to so many girls RN = modern and achievable. High end accessories match perfectly with high street bargains so when Matalan asked us to check out their denim offer this season, all at under £20, we knew we’d find something for our Spring closets {yes we know it’s wardrobe but for the sake of this post we are Carrie-fying our copy}

This time of year is perfect for trying out some new styles and when experimenting, if you are anything like us, you don’t want to be breaking the bank. Denim is a great place to start with Spring updates to you CLOSET because they can be worn now whilst the weather is still temperamental but will glide seamlessly into warmer days.

If you haven’t yet got your hands on a straighter leg jean then where have you been now’s the time. Skinny’s have their place but rejuvenate your look with a cropped ankle length straight leg to bring your denim game into 2018. If you want to dip your toe in the waters of a new jean shape without breaking the bank then Matalan‘s got your back with this pair. Add a ankle boot and oversize sweater for day or a silk cami and statement heel for night.

Dungerees have been longterm loves of ours {our denim Mr.Big if you will} and who can refuse the stretchiest pair around when they are only £20. Yep you read that right. TWENTY QUID. You could easily spend that on a fancy pink latte/avo on toast/green juice lunch OR you could buy these dungarees. If you’ve always contemplated purchasing a pair but haven’t yet then heres your chance to give them a whirl without breaking the bank.

We think you’ll love them. {Mr} BIG time.

SO while Carrie maybe spending her life’s savings on head to toe designer, our outfits will continue to be an amalgamation of high end investments and high street treasures ‘cos you don’t need to spend a fortune to be fashionable.
