We Found The Dream Jeans

Not since this blog post have we felt so compelled to write about a pair of jeans. Although we are always on the hunt for THE BEST, MOST PERFECT JEAN IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD rarely do we find it. Our hopes get raised now and then only to come crashing down when the fit doesn’t live up to the hype. So recently when Asos surprised us with a 2 hour 20% off code we scrolled through our saved list and thought we’d try the Levi’s Ribcage Jean that had been sat there for a few months.

We know; shopping for jeans online is usually no mean feat so you can imagine our surprise when we ordered 2 pairs and on arrival they fitted like a bloody glove!

Now let’s put it out there that although we are both pretty much the same dress size in most things, we are in fact very different shapes. Alice is a self proclaimed ‘asparagus’; pretty straight up and down, whereas Hannah is more like an egg timer with boobs, butt and a small waist (lol. who knew we’d be using kitchen references to describe our figures)

So with this in mind getting a single jean style to fit both our different figures is usually tricky but this Ribcage style works for us!

If you, like us, are always rummaging through the men’s section in vintage shops for a pair of old Levi 501’s that may be the right size (you can’t trust that size label as they vary so much) and in the perfect wash (not too light, not too dark) then look no further as we are about to make all your jeans dreams come true!

Firstly as the name suggests, the waist is high. Super high. That’s probably the no.1 selling point for us as we abso-blinkin-lutley LOVE a really high, sits right on your true waist jean. So flattering and hides {ie. pulls in} a multitude of sins so this for us is the best feature.

Secondly, the straight leg. On a whole we’ve been wearing straight instead of skinny for a couple of jeans now as they just seem more relaxed, flattering and a cooler shape that work with flats or heels alike. This jean has a great straight leg that fits in all the right places which when combined with the high waist was the clincher for us.

Lastly, the 1% elastane makes a BIG difference. You may know that uncomfortable feeling of high waisted jeans without stretch, they look awesome when you are standing but sit down (or eat a big lunch) and all of sudden they are not so comfy but with these jeans the stretch makes them extra wearable with a bit of room and give!

Can you tell we like them yet?!!!!

Coming in around £90 these are not the cheapest jeans around but as we all know by now if there’s anything we do invest in clothing wise- jeans are always worth it for the cost per wear, especially for the A/W season.

In the past when ordering jeans online we’ve opted to order a couple of sizes to check which is the best or as these jeans are slightly stretchy we suggest going down a size {if you get a tape measure and go down one inch from what your waist measures all the way around!}

SO have we convinced you yet to give the Ribcage style a go? We think our DREAM JEAN hunt is over… at least for the time being!
